Football Recap: Hillcrest Piles Up the Points Against Bremen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillcrest). They claimed a resounding 54-0 win over the Bremen Braves. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hillcrest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khyran Bullard, who rushed for 63 yards and one TD on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 50 yards.

Bullard was just one part of a punishing run game: Hillcrest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory (which was Hillcrest's third in a row) raised their record to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games. As for Bremen, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coming up, Hillcrest will venture away from home to take on Lemont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Lemont HS have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games. As for Bremen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals' defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so the Braves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
