Basketball Game Preview: Keystone Wildcats vs. Brookside Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Keystone Wildcats take on the Brookside Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Keystone has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Keystone is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 81-64 win over Buckeye on Tuesday.

Liam Goran was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 40 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Cowling, who went 11 of 22 on his way to 24 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Brookside suffered their closest defeat since November 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bay by a score of 59-56. The Cardinals were up 40-26 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Keystone's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Brookside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Keystone strolled past Brookside in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 57-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Keystone since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
