Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. Tri-Valley Scotties

Sheridan is 2-8 against Tri-Valley since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sheridan Generals will host the Tri-Valley Scotties at 7:15 p.m. Sheridan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Tri-Valley likes a good challenge.

Sheridan will head into Tuesday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They came up short against Maysville, falling 79-55. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Panthers are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley entered their tilt with West Muskingum on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They skirted past the Tornadoes 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Scotties have posted since January 16, 2024.

Tri-Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Sheridan, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
