Basketball Recap: Mandeville Falls to Archbishop Chapelle in First Game of Season

Mandeville kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 49-44 to the Archbishop Chapelle Chipmunks. The Skippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chipmunks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Mandeville still got an impressive performance from Alanna Benoit, who went 14-for-34 on her way to 38 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Benoit has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Archbishop Chapelle has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Mandeville will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Madison Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Archbishop Chapelle, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lakeshore at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
