Volleyball Game Preview: University Prep Academy Golden Eagles vs. KIPP Navigate College Prep Tigers

University Prep Academy is a perfect 4-0 against KIPP Navigate College Prep since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Golden Eagles will square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. University Prep Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Two weeks ago, University Prep Academy made easy work of El Primero and carried off a 3-0 victory.

University Prep Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 25-16.

University Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Nguyen, who had 33 digs and two aces. Nguyen is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season. Taran Kollu was another key player, getting eight digs and one block.

Nguyen wasn't the only good server: University Prep Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, KIPP Navigate College Prep came up short against KIPP San Jose Collegiate on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Wolfpack: they've now lost four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 24-26, 25-9.

KIPP Navigate College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for University Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

University Prep Academy took their win against KIPP Navigate College Prep when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
