Volleyball Recap: North Gaston Takes a Loss

North Gaston lost against Kings Mountain on September 4th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-12, 25-6.

Kings Mountain can attribute much of their success to Alana Laughridge, who had five aces and four digs. The dominant performance also gave Laughridge a new career-high in assists (two). Jillian Patton also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

North Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Kings Mountain, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 25-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North Gaston will challenge rival South Point at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kings Mountain is set to take on their familiar foe Ashbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
