Basketball Recap: Rivercrest Has No Trouble Against Hoxie

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Rivercrest took on Hoxie on Friday. The Rivercrest Colts blew past the Hoxie Mustangs 51-31. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Mustangs are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rivercrest is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Hoxie, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Rivercrest has already played their next contest (against Memphis Home Education Association), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hoxie will host Walnut Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
