Soccer Game Preview: Wade Hampton vs. Mauldin

The Wade Hampton Generals will head out on the road to square off against the Mauldin Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wade Hampton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Wade Hampton had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the six-goal drubbing they dealt Boiling Springs on Wednesday. The Generals blew past the Bulldogs 6-0. Give Wade Hampton's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Boiling Springs from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Mauldin faced J.L. Mann in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mavericks came up short against the Patriots, falling 5-2. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Mauldin struggled afterwards.

Wade Hampton pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Mauldin, they moved to 13-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
