Basketball Recap: IDEA Frontier College Prep Comes Up Short

IDEA Frontier College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Santa Rosa Warriors and fell 60-4. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against IDEA Frontier College Prep this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-6 back in December of 2024.

Mia Garza was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine steals for Santa Rosa. Garza has been hot, having posted seven or more steals the last five times she's played. Amber Mendoza was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

IDEA Frontier College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Santa Rosa, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

IDEA Frontier College Prep will square off against Raymondville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Raymondville will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something IDEA Frontier College Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for Santa Rosa, they will face off against Progreso at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Rosa's defense has only allowed 24.7 points per game this season, so Progreso's offense will have their work cut out for them.
