Softball Recap: St. Patrick Starts off Right with Win over Long Beach

St. Patrick took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Long Beach Bearcats. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Elizabeth Colson was a standout: she went a perfect3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Nasakaitis, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

St. Patrick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Coming up, St. Patrick will take on Stone at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Long Beach, they will face off against St. Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Long Beach has now lost nine straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 22.
