Calumet New Tech falls despite strong effort from Eric Allen

Recap: Calumet New Tech Warriors vs. Gary West Side Cougars

It was a good run, but the Calumet New Tech Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Gary West Side, falling 63-32. While losing is never fun, Calumet New Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Gary West Side is ranked 45th).

Despite the loss, Calumet New Tech still got an impressive performance from Eric Allen, who scored ten points along with seven assists and two steals. Allen hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Amir Watson, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Calumet New Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Gary West Side, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calumet New Tech the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Calumet Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Gary West Side will take on East Chicago Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Chicago Central is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
