Softball Recap: Green Comes Up Short

Eastern hit Green with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 on April 8th.

Emma Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aliya Bradley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Green has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Eastern, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Green will host South Webster at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern, they will head out on the road to challenge Symmes Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
