Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Cary Imps
The Apex Cougars were the 44-35 winner over the Cary Imps when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Apex fell 33-26 to Cary on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Apex has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Apex still got an impressive performance from Isabella Pease, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Pease's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cary to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyndall Brewington, who scored ten points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Luci Augustson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Cary, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
Apex will take on Millbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Cary will be home for the holidays to greet Northwest Halifax at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Halifax is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
