Baseball Recap: Cuyahoga Heights Wins Going Away Against Trinity

Cuyahoga Heights won the last time they faced Trinity and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Red Wolves put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 15-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Wolves, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Vince Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with six RBI and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

Snyder wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Tommer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Tommer has become a key player for Cuyahoga Heights: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Gavin Skuhrovec was another, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs.

Cuyahoga Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Cuyahoga Heights and bumps their season record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Trinity, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-1.
