Softball Game Preview: Laytonville Warriors vs. Calistoga Wildcats

Laytonville is 6-1 against Calistoga since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Laytonville has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Laytonville lost 17-2 to Willits on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Calistoga waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Wolverines.

Calistoga pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Laytonville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
