Basketball Recap: New Life Academy Makes It 16 in a Row at Home

New Life Academy had won 15 straight home games dating back to last season and Dontrel Lee did his part to make it 16 on Monday. The New Life Academy Bobcats put the hurt on the Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 61-40 win thanks in part to Lee, who posted 22 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of New Life Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Daelin Swimme, who had nine points. Those nine points gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Bethel Assembly Christian Academy lost, don't look at McKinley Conner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Conner is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah White, who put up five points.

New Life Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

New Life Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-55 victory against Rock Church on the 16th. Bethel Assembly Christian Academy has also already played their next contest, a 51-43 loss against Victory Christian on the 14th.
