Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Alpine's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Alpine got themselves on the board against Presidio on Friday, but Presidio never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 18-0 victory. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Taryn Hardin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kacy Hawkins was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Zariah Galvan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

Alpine hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matches.

Alpine has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Presidio, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Alpine wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-0 victory against Tornillo on the 11th. As for Presidio, they have also already played their next match, a 20-11 defeat against Kermit on the 11th.
