Softball Recap: Lee Park Prep Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lee Park Prep put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Concord Academy Eagles as the Lee Park Prep Knights made off with a 14-3 win. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 16-4 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Ansley Green made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Green was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Alexander, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Swann, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Lee Park Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Lee Park Prep's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Concord Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee Park Prep will welcome Union Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Union Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season. As for Concord Academy, they will square off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
