Soccer Game Preview: Rochelle vs. Sterling

Rochelle is 2-8 against Sterling since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Rochelle will venture away from home to take on Sterling at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rochelle fell victim to Mendota and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against East Moline United, falling 10-0.

Rochelle now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Rochelle suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Sterling in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Rochelle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
