Football Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Booker Tornadoes + How To Watch

The Gibbs Gladiators will take on the Booker Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gibbs has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Booker will arrive with six straight wins.

Last Friday, Gibbs came up short against Boca Ciega and fell 19-7. The matchup marked the Gladiators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gibbs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Juan Jones and Khalil Batson. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Jontae Jordan was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Booker was able to grind out a solid victory over Sebring on Friday, taking the game 27-20. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tornadoes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 130th).

Booker's win came from a few key players Gibbs will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mike Peterson, who rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Morris, who threw for 209 yards and a pair of TDs.

Gibbs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Booker, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
