Softball Game Preview: Randleman Tigers vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats

Randleman is 2-8 against Eastern Randolph since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Randleman Tigers challenge Eastern Randolph Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Randleman has four straight wins, Eastern Randolph has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Randleman earned a 9-4 victory over Western Alamance.

Kinzie Ivey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

Ivey wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elsie Prince, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Prince has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Eastern Randolph came up short against Ledford on Friday, falling 16-1.

Eastern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Randleman, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Randleman was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern Randolph in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 8-3. Will Randleman repeat their success, or does Eastern Randolph have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
