Soccer Recap: Western Albemarle Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Western Albemarle walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Liberty Christian Bulldogs a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering Western Albemarle have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Parker Polk and Jack Brockmeier scored all three of Western Albemarle's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Western Albemarle has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those nine contests. As for Liberty Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.

Coming up, Western Albemarle will head out to square off against Rocktown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocktown will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Western Albemarle surely won't give up without a fight. Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
