Newark Central has gone a perfect 6-0 against University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Phoenix at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Newark Central's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Newark Central will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Science Park, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 win over the Chargers on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, University fell victim to Glen Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Ridgers, falling 22-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Phoenix were not able to get on the board.

Newark Central's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Newark Central skirted past University 15-13 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
