Volleyball Game Preview: Caledonia Cavaliers vs. Columbus Falcons

The Caledonia Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the Columbus Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Caledonia didn't have quite enough to beat New Hope and fell 3-2. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Caledonia started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, 15-7.

Meanwhile, Columbus came up short against Pontotoc on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-4, 25-7.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Caledonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-12-2.

Everything went Caledonia's way against Columbus in their previous meeting back in September, as Caledonia made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
