Baseball Recap: Wasatch Has No Trouble Against Cedar Valley

With a playoff win on the line, Wasatch rose to the challenge on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Cedar Valley Aviators. Considering the Wasps have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Bridger Shaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Wasatch got a massive performance out of Grant Mahoney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Mahoney has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Brown, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Wasatch and bumps their season record up to 16-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Cedar Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Wasatch nor Cedar Valley have any future games scheduled.
