Basketball Recap: Quincy Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Quincy Notre Dame and Williamsville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Quincy Notre Dame had to settle for second. They came up short against the Williamsville Bullets, falling 55-33. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Bullets are ranked 42nd).

Brayden Saling continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Williamsville, going 8-for-13 en route to 21 points. Saling is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Carson Doran was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Quincy Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Williamsville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 29-3.

Quincy Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamsville, they will take on Staunton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Staunton will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Williamsville surely won't give up without a fight.
