Football Recap: Rockcastle County Piles Up the Points Against Estill County

Rockcastle County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 41-8 victory over the Estill County Engineers. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won ten contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Hunter Pingleton was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores. Those 131 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Jackson, who picked up 110 receiving yards and two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockcastle County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 319 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 295 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Rockcastle County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackson and Brayden Thacker.

Rockcastle County's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.8 points on average over those games. As for Estill County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
