Softball Recap: D.C. Everest Gets the Win

On Saturday D.C. Everest's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Pulaski Red Raiders.

D.C. Everest's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Piper Schulz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those four hits gave Schulz a new career-high. Mara Meverden was another, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.

D.C. Everest's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Pulaski, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

D.C. Everest will challenge Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pulaski, they will square off against Manitowoc Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Ships have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.87 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
