Volleyball Recap: Northgate Comes Up Short

Northgate lost against Columbus back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24.

Hannah Genet paced Northgate's offense, picking up seven kills. Genet got some help from Maddy Schmidt and her ten assists. Genet was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Columbus, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

Coincidentally, Northgate and Columbus will both be playing Trinity Christian the next time they take the court. The Vikings will host the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
