Baseball Recap: Demopolis Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Demopolis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Mary G. Montgomery Vikings. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Demopolis' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mary G. Montgomery, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Demopolis will head out to face off against Gordo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mary G. Montgomery, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fairhope at 5:00 p.m.
