Basketball Recap: Guilford Park Takes a Loss

Guilford Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 61-46 fall against the Chesapeake Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Panther can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Cougars are ranked 43rd).

Chesapeake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kendall Kotofski, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Kotofski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Cieri, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and four steals.

Guilford Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chesapeake, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Guilford Park will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Annapolis at 6:00 p.m. on February 24, 2025. As for Chesapeake, they will venture away from home to take on Meade at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
