Softball Game Preview: Ada-Borup Cougars vs. Crookston Pirates

The Ada-Borup Cougars will square off against the Crookston Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Crookston took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ada-Borup, who comes in off a win.

Ada-Borup took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They came out on top against Bagley by a score of 8-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Crookston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-3 to Red Lake Falls.

Brea Lessard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those hits were her first of the season.

Crookston's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ada-Borup, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Ada-Borup took their victory against Crookston in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 18-5 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
