Soccer Game Preview: Deep Run vs. Freeman

The Deep Run Wildcats will take on the Freeman Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Deep Run's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Two weeks ago, Deep Run narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Western Albemarle 3-2.

Meanwhile, Freeman waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Panthers. That's two games straight that Freeman have won by exactly two goals.

Deep Run's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Freeman, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Deep Run's way against Freeman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Deep Run made off with a 4-1 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
