Softball Recap: Emerald Comes Up Short

Emerald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 24-2 to the Laurens Raiders. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Raiders when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Emerald saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Knight, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Emerald's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Laurens, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.

Coming up, Laurens will face off against Mauldin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Emerald will be paying especially close attention to Laurens' match: after Laurens faces off against Mauldin, they'll take on Emerald again at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
