Softball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West's tournament run continued when they took on South Grand Prairie on Friday. The West Trojans fell just short of the South Grand Prairie Warriors by a score of 7-5.

West saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Mayhue, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Mayhue has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Breanah Boleman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

West has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season. South Grand Prairie's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6-1.

Looking ahead, West will take on Centennial at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for South Grand Prairie, they are taking a road trip to take on Peaster at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
