Soccer Game Preview: Boulder Creek vs. Pinnacle

Boulder Creek hasn't had much luck against Pinnacle recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Boulder Creek Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the Pinnacle Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Boulder Creek is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Basha on Friday. Boulder Creek fell 2-0 to Basha. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Jaguars haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle faced Casteel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Neither Pinnacle nor Casteel could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Pioneers' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

With that draw, Pinnacle's record moves to 11-0-2. As for Boulder Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Boulder Creek skirted past Pinnacle 2-1 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boulder Creek since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
