Baseball Game Preview: Marion Scarlet Hurricanes vs. Graham G-Men

Marion has gone 8-2 against Graham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Scarlet Hurricanes will take on the G-Men at 4:00 p.m. Marion will be strutting in after a victory while Graham will be coming in after a loss.

Marion took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Tazewell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Scarlet Hurricanes won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Scarlet Hurricanes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Corbin Bade made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bade was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Owen Parnell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Marion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Graham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Pulaski County, falling 15-5.

Kaedan Gregory was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aidan Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Graham's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Marion, their record now sits at 4-12-1.

Marion beat Graham 7-3 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scarlet Hurricanes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
