Baseball Recap: Southern Fulton's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Southern Fulton walked away with it. They never let the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 12 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Colt Mann made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jett Burger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Joel Fitz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Southern Fulton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shanksville Stonycreek only posted an OBP of .412.

The victory (which was Southern Fulton's fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Southern Fulton will welcome Northern Bedford County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 1.8, the Panthers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Shanksville Stonycreek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
