Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mt. Vernon entered their tilt with Lakewood on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Lancers.

Mt. Vernon got a great performance from Jagger Dohn as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Kayden Packard was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dammon Wolfe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mt. Vernon is set to take on their familiar foe Granville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lakewood will square off against rival Johnstown-Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
