George Washington takes loss despite strong efforts from Jordan Dotson and Tre Borne

Recap: George Washington Patriots vs. Fossil Ridge Sabercats

The George Washington Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 61-46 fall against Fossil Ridge. George Washington has not had much luck with Fossil Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Tre Borne and Jordan Dotson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Borne scored 14 points along with six steals, while Dotson scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Trimm, who scored five points along with three blocks.

George Washington struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Cayden Clagett was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Shields, who scored 11 points.

George Washington's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Fossil Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

George Washington is on the road again on Saturday and play against Rocky Mountain at 10:00 a.m. on December 9th. Rocky Mountain comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Fossil Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Air Academy at 11:40 a.m. on December 9th. Air Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52 points per game.
