Basketball Recap: Lacey Goodson and Harmony Mills Secure Win for Independence

Independence's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over the South Charleston Black Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Black Eagles two weeks ago, they had to take a 44-39 defeat.

Independence was led to victory by Harmony Mills and Lacey Goodson. Mills dropped a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds, while Goodson dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten boards. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Goodson has scored at least a third of Independence's points.

Independence's record is now 6-12. As for South Charleston, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Independence won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Liberty at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Charleston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
