Baseball Recap: Mooresville Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

Mooresville put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Martinsville Artesians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-8 last Tuesday.

Mooresville got a big performance out of Grant Martin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Bruhn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Mooresville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Martinsville only posted a batting average of .000.

Mooresville pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Martinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mooresville will square off against Decatur Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martinsville, they will take on Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
