Basketball Game Preview: Williamsburg Raiders vs. Ballard Bombers

The Williamsburg Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Ballard Bombers on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Williamsburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-59 to Benton.

Meanwhile, Ballard had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 64-54. Given the Bombers' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Tigers are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ballard pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Williamsburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
