Box Elder extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-15 in the process. They lost 16-10 to the Northridge Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bees have suffered against the Knights since May 11, 2022.
Jensen Kennedy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Easton Green was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Kellen Kohler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
As for Northridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory they have posted against Box Elder since May 11, 2022.
On Northridge's side, Kam Shirreffs and Jon Olsen were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Shirreffs didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Olsen didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. At bat, Shirreffs went 4-for-7 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Olsen got on base in four of his eight plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Anderson, who got on base in five of his seven plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Boston Wright, who got on base in five of his eight plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
