Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Golden Tornadoes vs. Bainbridge Bearcats

Monroe has gone 8-2 against Bainbridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Monroe Golden Tornadoes will face off against the Bainbridge Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Monroe has five straight victories, Bainbridge has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Monroe narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Westover 59-56.

Monroe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Adams led the charge by going 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Adams is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Brayden Burns was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points along with five boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Bainbridge came up short against Thomas County Central on Tuesday, falling 62-41.

Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Bainbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Everything came up roses for Monroe against Bainbridge in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured a 66-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monroe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
