Basketball Recap: Capistrano Valley Christian Skates Past Farrington with Ease

Capistrano Valley Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Farrington Governors 69-18. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Capistrano Valley Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Ahern, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 19 points and five steals. That's the most steals Ahern has posted since back in December of 2023. Shaunt Kechejian was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with six assists and five boards.

Capistrano Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Capistrano Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Farrington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Capistrano Valley Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sports Leadership & Management at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sports Leadership & Management has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Farrington and Castle will round out the year against one another at at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
