Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. St. Mary's Rams

The Lincoln Trojans will face off against the St. Mary's Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Lincoln and seven for St. Mary's dating back to last season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lodi on Thursday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's came up short against Lodi on Monday, falling 9-3.

Maya Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

St. Mary's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lincoln has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for St. Mary's, though, as they've been averaging 10.7 hits. Given Lincoln's sizable advantage in that area, St. Mary's will need to find a way to close that gap.
