Softball Preview: Aspen Skiers vs. Delta Panthers        
        
		
             On Wednesday Aspen will have to hit the road after five straight games at home. They will venture away from home to  square off against the Delta Panthers  at 2:00  p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
 Aspen lost  18-1 to Gunnison on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Skiers have lost by  exactly 17  runs.
 Meanwhile,  after a string of three wins, Delta's good fortune finally ran out  on Monday. They came up short against  Durango, falling  13-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  defeat the Panthers have suffered  since August 30th.
  Jazlyn Naranjo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sophia Siennicki, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Delta was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .316 or higher in 15 consecutive  games.
 Aspen's loss was  their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Delta, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 11-9.
 Aspen might still be hurting after the  17-2 loss they got from Delta  when the teams last played  back in October of 2023. Can Aspen avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
