Baseball Recap: St. Anthony Saints vs. Glenn Eagles

St. Anthony was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Glenn on Thursday. The St. Anthony Saints blew past the Glenn Eagles 17-2. That looming 17-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Saints yet this season.

Benny Lane was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Anthony is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise. Lane was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

As for Glenn, they will head out to square off against Whittier at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Glenn has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
