Basketball Recap: Aj Hopkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Central over Vancleave

East Central played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 66-42 to the Vancleave Bulldogs. The Hornets have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Hopkins, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Hopkins' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Trey Maryland was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Vancleave, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-16.

East Central has already played their next contest, a 79-31 loss against Laurel on the 29th. Vancleave has also already played their next game (against Puckett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
